Bug Description

Some applications provide custom icons for their menu items. These icons are not displayed right now by dbusmenu. This bug happens for example in KAlarm: "File > New > New Command Alarm" and "File > New > New Audio Alarm" do not get their icons. The protocol needs to be extended so that applications can pass a custom icon path.

milestone: none → ubuntu-10.10

The priority should be higher than 'wishlist', here is another example with synaptic.

Presumably this is wishlist because you can disable menus_have_icons to remove the broken icons?

gconftool --set /desktop/gnome/interface/menus_have_icons --type bool false

I had menus_have_icons=false on my fresh install, so is this bug that the flag is on or that the feature isn't supported?
