Bug Description

I have this error if I install appications inside cubic

ERROR couldn't connect to zsys daemon: connection error: desc = "transport: Error while dialing dial unix /run/zsysd.sock: connect: no such file or directory"

for the record:
https://answers.launchpad.net/cubic/+faq/3226 I didn't had to do anyting to get Internet-connection. It works without any problems. I do not understand what dialing in this context means. I do not have a dial-up modem here.

It looks like zsys requires services to be running, but services do not run in the virtual environment. I have not experienced any adverse effects from this message, and I believe it is safe to ignore. Does this cause issues when you try to install your customized ISO?

It was sometimes necessary to manually setup the DNS lookup when Cubic used a chroot environment.

As a matter of fact, it is still necessary for this version that uses a virtual environment... However, Cubic handles this by binding the "/etc/resolv.conf" file from your host machine to the virtual environment. This does work fine for Ubuntu, but users customizing other Ubuntu-Based distros may still need to take special steps to make sure their network connectivity works in the virtual environment.

Closing this bug report since I haven't heard back from the bug reporter.

Try opening a bug report against zfs for this particular problem.

I get this message while modified the system. I only get this message while install/uninstall applications with apt. As far I know Ubuntu create ZFS snapshots automatically. I was a bit confused because the error message tells something about dialing.

I do not see this error after I have installed the customized ISO.

I do think this is a bug with ZFS, not Cubic.
