Bug Description

Intermittently (maybe once a day) I'm receiving a kernel panic. The last time this happened it was when opening a new tab in Firefox 20.0a1. I'm using the most recent Crunchbang Waldorf build (kernel 3.2.0-4 64-bit). I've only seen this happen on my laptop (intel GPU) and not on my desktop (ati gpu). I've also tried the Crunchbang Statler backports and not experienced this.

I'm guessing this is a bug in the Intel drivers, but I'm not sure. The UX is that my system just completely locks up. My mouse and keyboard become unresponsive, any animating UI elements stop. (CTRL+ALT+Backspace, CTRL+ALT+F1 do not work).

I've noticed the following in my /var/log/syslog at the time of the crash:
Nov 26 10:13:31 ashughes-x230 kernel: [ 20.047526] Console: switching to colour frame buffer device 170x48
Nov 26 10:13:31 ashughes-x230 kernel: [ 20.054123] fb0: inteldrmfb frame buffer device
Nov 26 10:13:31 ashughes-x230 kernel: [ 20.054126] drm: registered panic notifier

Please advise how I can help debug this issue. It's pretty catastrophic in that it requires a hard reset to recover.

Thank you

I'm seeing this happen roughly once per day. I thought it might have been related to Compositing but it doesn't seem to be related. Yesterday I ran all day with compositing enabled; today I ran all day with compositing disabled. I experienced a crash each day.
