Bug Description

I have a lot of ideas for covergloobus, I think that when ubuntu 10.10 is released, covergloobus will not offer anything that gnome applets can not provide, so I think it is necessary to add new features to the application.

Some of them are easy to code, I have a list here:

1.- Timer: It's very easy to add a timer that start in 00:00 and restart when the song change
2.- Show/Hide whit click: I have implemented this in my own version of covergloobus, its very useful when you are not using covergloobus.
3.- Show only when track is playing option
4.- Volume option
5.- Genre information
6.- Animated buttons
7.- Animated transitions between covers

Themes will change, some features must be added to the xml engine... it have some work, but it's possible, so, why not?

What do you think?

1 - I am working on time info and seekbar
2 - show hide what? covergloobus window? why should someone hide it if cg stays always in the background?
3 - I'll say hide it when player is not running, it makes no sense to hide cg when player is paused
5 - done (since 1.6 release I think), but not all players provide this info, also cg provides year and track number info where available
6 - hover and pressed states are already done, how else can we animate them?
7 - this may be done, but what kind of animation will it be?

anyway CG and Gnome applets are not the same

Changed in covergloobus:
status: New → In Progress
importance: Undecided → Low
