Covergloobus doesn't save the screen position where I put it. I stick covergloobus to the desktop, but it isn't working.

what CG version are you using?
does this happens when you press Save button in configuration window or when
you restart CG?
and Stick to Desktop is not for saving CG position but for preventing
accidently moving it with mouse.

What I say is more like an feature request, I will explain:

If I want to change the position of covergloobus it only can be saved if I change it manually. I thing that it can be considerated as a bug. Covergloobus would detect the current screen position and then, when you click in "stick to desktop" save the position, so, if you restart covergloobus it will appear where you put it.

I repeat:
1. "Stick to desktop" is not for saving CG position on the screen
2. CG saves its position automatically at exit (at least latest bzr revision
does so)
position entries in config window are probably useless now

it does not wok for me to. if i set Y and X manualy after restarting covergloobus everything is set to their defaults 20 and 663.

20x663 is not the default position (20x20 is the default), I suppose it is
your previous position
there is a bug that makes CG load old position when it is set manually in
configuration window
but if you uncheck "Pin to desktop", drag CoverGloobus with mouse to the
place you want it to be, after restart it should place window in this new
position
please, try it and tell me if this way the postion is saved?

For whatever reason, when I log in, Covergloobus is at position 1420x900. I have never set it at this position!
I then change it to my lower right corner, 1590x1025 and click save. Log out, log back in, and it's at 1420x900!
I am usint v1.6 via ppa:

Thanks,

1. as I said there is a bug that CG that makes it use old position when
setting position in configuration window (try to place window by dragging,
without conf window)
2. window may be bigger than you see it, if you place it out of screen,
after restart it will be placed at the edge of the screen, if you put big
x,y CG will be placed at the edge of the screen, I think it is the way GTK
moves windows
to see real window size activate Background in configuration window; edit
theme file to remove useless space

Ok, editing the theme XML file did the trick. It's not the most elegant fix, but it worked!
I really the overall polish and themes of CoverGloobus, keep up the good work!
