Bug Description

I was adjusting shadow radius values in CCSM (both active and inactive), which caused compiz to instantly paint windows white - as seen here;

http://ompldr.org/vZGtlcQ

Changing the values instantly causes this behavior to occur. the only way to get things back to normal is to kill compiz and restart it.

In this screenshot, CCSM is the active window. But if i was to focus on firefox (the window directly behind) CCSM would appear white, while firefox would return to showing it's window contents.

I've been able to reproduce this bug repeatedly, now.

If you need more info let me know.

Also, something i've noticed today;

If i change the radius value (for active or inactive shadows) to *anything* except 8.0, even restarting compiz wont fix the issue.

FYI - i use Nvidia proprietary driver, in case that matters.

just an update on this bug;

A few other bugs i had previously field, do not seem to be affecting me anymore (which i have noted on in the comments for each of those bugs). However, this one is still present in lp:compiz/0.9.8 branch.

obviously, it is easy to work around ~ I just leave the shadow radius' at their defaults.

As an update ~ this bug seems to be gone now.

Today, i was playing around with gtk-window-decorator / shadows and everything seems to be working.

I am not sure when or how this bug was fixed but it is not present in 0.9.9 rev3410 (and may not have been present for a while now, although i wouldn't know when it was fixed.).

anyways, it does appear to be fixed :)
