It is difficult to use Unity launcher panel for searching minimized windows:
too many time and clicks.
That's why i use workspaces for this.
It would be very convinient to add to Static Application Switcher feature
"hide secondary workspaces" checkbox. |

It should limit whole windows list
to those that are on workspace #1. |
