Compiz 9.13.1 crash on window spawn

Compiz crashes at random times when spawning one or more windows. Steps to reproduce crash every time:

1. Open a picture with GIMP
2. Quickly switch to another workspace when the loading screen shows
3. Compiz crashes when the GIMP windows spawn on the first workspace

Plugins enabled: core;notification;grid;firepaint;crashhandler;text;imgjpeg;winrules;shift;ring;put;neg;mousepoll;screenshot;resize;regex;png;place;move;matecompat;decoration;commands;annotate;showmouse;wallpaper;animation;wall;animationaddon;expo;ezoom;switcher;

While progressively disabling updates, I discovered the crash only happens when the the 'put' plugin is enabled.

Edit last comment: I meant the 'place' plugin, not the 'put' plugin.
