Bug Description

Hi. The Alt-F7 shortcut insists on activating itself all the time, even when it is not wanted. When trying to use alt-click to reblog something on Tumblr. Even though I've disabled it in the following GConf keys, and in the keyboard shortcuts window, it still insists on working.

/apps/compiz-1/plugins/move/screen0/options
/apps/compizconfig-1/profiles/Default/plugins/move/screen0/options

Suprisingly, I've managed to disable it by changing the initiate-key value to <Super>F7 in the above keys, but the shortcut reenabled itself after a week or two. This happened on two PC's I've tested, both running Ubuntu 12.10. The values in the initiate-key remain set to <Super>F7, but this is obviously not the case.

Additionally, Compiz Config Settings Manager refuses to change this value in the Move plugin. After I change it and return to the main window, the value changes back.

Tom,

Ubuntu 12.10 uses gsettings (under org.compiz), not gconf any more. However "integrated" settings that Compiz has in common with Gnome are not get/set from org.compiz. Instead the "integrated" or common options like initiate move are stored under "org.gnome.desktop.wm.keybindings". The GUI for those is:
System Settings > Keyboard > Shortcuts > Windows

Finally, once you have configured the shortcut in the right place, there is a bug with compiz resetting them to defaults (seemingly randomly). That is bug 1063617. So I think this is now a duplicate of that.
