Bug Description

I'm seeing some glitches when trying to switch ws on the preview window.
On the video, you can see that temporary, the windows are displayed on the new workspace and then get back to their initial place.
I see the same behavior on the expo mode, when I drag and drop a window from one workspace to another: all windows from starting workspace are displayed for 0.5s on the destination (of the drop) workspace, and then, are back on their right place.

summary: - some window preview glitches on ws switcher and expo
+ some window preview glitches on workspace switcher and expo

setting it back to 0.9.7 a it's not released yet and seems to get quite some fans.

I don't think this bug should be High or targeted for 0.9.7.0. This bug has been around for a long time (since oneiric at least) and is not new. Perhaps targeting for 0.9.7.2 is more realistic?

@Daniel: this bug clearly wasn't in oneiric compiz. I tested again on the same machine, and other people in distro as well.

It's possible, even likely, that this bug was hidden by the poor frame timing in previous versions of compiz. Now that the timing is improved (bug 880707) you get to see literally more frames than you could before. So it's more likely you will be able to observe single-frame bugs like this one, which previously would have been hidden.

It sounds like I only see this bug in oneiric because of ppa:vanvugt/compiz which contains the new frame timing code.

But I think you will find the root cause of this bug is older than oneiric. :)
