Bug Description

When I am in workspace 1 and have banshee in workspace 4 (or any other workspace than my current workspace), clicking on 'Banshee' in the sound indicator wiggles banshee in the launcher but does not switch workspaces to banshee. I would expect it to switch me to the workspace with Banshee and raise Banshee to have focus.

Don't think it's an unity fix only (should be some compiz and indicators?).

We can't fix this this cycle as it requires some fundamental changes to the protocol applications use in focus stealing prevention.

I use Ubuntu 12.04 and have the same problem. If I click on a link in thunderbird, and firefox is open on a different desktop, it opens a new tab in firefox but does not switch the focus to the desktop firefox is in. Focus stays on thunderbird.

Related to this, is there any way to cause a new instance of firefox to open in the current desktop when a link in thunderbird is clicked, as opposed to a new tab opening in the firefox on a different desktop?
