Bug Description

Binary package hint: compiz

I have a dual-head desktop system with radeon RV770. I use a ~/.xprofile script to launch firefox and some pre-positioned xterms on the two screens.

In metacity, they come up and are displayed correctly.

Under unity/compiz, the right screen renders correctly but the left one shows part of the screen sort of stretched out horizontally (see photo 1).

When I simply click the mouse on the firefox window, suddenly the screen redraws itself correctly (see photo 2).

This is not a recent regression - I've seen it each time I boot into unity during natty development. In maverick, compiz worked correctly but I didn't try unity on that release.

Note how the remainder of the window on the left monitor does not show on the right.

One click on the titlebar of a window on the left screen is sufficient to restore the rendering.

I gather the click triggers a redraw event.

I can try booting a few different ways to isolate it if you'd like. But I'm guessing this may already be a known issue, so will wait until someone has verified if this is just a dupe to do more testing.

Hi, Bryce. Can you still reproduce this issue on 11.10/12.04? Thanks.
