Bug Description

.) LinuxMint 16 "Petra" cinnamon 32bit

.) Attempted to register on community.LinuxMint.com but could not register the same username i have on the forums. On the forums, i have a three letter username "rjt", but the community website requires a four character minimum.

.) Registration was denied and aggravated by the fact that the website was down or non-responsive -- maybe due to trying to register a 3 letter username? Could attempting to register a 3 letter username when four is the minimum cause the website to choke?

.) i expected consistency. i expected the community accept a 3 letter username registration because i already have a 3 letter username on the forums. Credentials should have the same minimum and maximum lengths and other character constraints to break down walls to user participation. Not only is it a pain, but will make it more difficult to implement SSO.

.) i expect the problem to happen always.
