Bug Description
The wsrep_scripts for xtrabackup do not support the use of mysqld_multi. If defaults are called, it's always for the mysqld group, but mysqld_multi can have multiple GNR's on one machine with names like mysqld1, mysqld2, mysqld3, etc. XtraBackup/
--defaults-
This option specifies the group name in my.cnf which should be used.
This is needed for mysqld_multi deployments.
I suppose this is more of a feature request really, but I didn't know how to properly report it. I apologize if this is the wrong place or method.

Hello Eric,
I agree with you, I think actually mysqld_multi isn't compatible with xtrabackup because xtrabackup didn't manage mysql group [mysqld1], [mysqld2], etc...in my.cnf.
I made a post on the Google group of Galera (https:/ /groups. google. com/forum/ #!topic/ codership- team/__ O3j3ySyxg) (I have a MariaDB Cluster of 3 nodes), and I would like to use xtrabackup in SST method but it doesn't work...
Bye,
