Bug Description
Rather than return "Unknown command", it should be possible to issue queries against INFORMATION_SCHEMA. This will improve our MTR tests because currently it is not possible to safely test for "wsrep-ready" inside MTR, as an "unknown command" error will cause the test to terminate.
I believe it will also be of general utility for users and DBAs. Monitoring scripts and such can also continue to function during synchronization without getting errors.
