Cmon failed start with error: (ERROR) Failed to get hostid

Bug Description

When I try to start cmon it gaves me this error:

Nov 18 12:38:00 : (INFO) Created table 'cpu_stats'

Nov 18 12:38:00 : (INFO) Created table 'hosts'
Nov 18 12:38:00 : (INFO) Created table 'processes'
Nov 18 12:38:00 : (INFO) Created table 'host_process_map'
Nov 18 12:38:00 : (INFO) Created table 'cpu_stats'
 ok
[1]- Terminated tail -f /var/log/cmon.log
-bash-3.2# Nov 18 12:38:01 : (INFO) Done
Nov 18 12:38:01 : (INFO) Registering managed cluster with cluster id=1

Nov 18 12:38:02 : (INFO) Managed cluster is already registered - cluster id=1

Nov 18 12:38:02 : (ERROR) Failed to get hostid
Nov 18 12:38:02 : (ERROR) Critical error (mysql error code -1) occured - shutting down

How can we fix it? Thanks.

What does:

hostname
and
hostname -i

print out?

Hi,

Can you explain how you got into this?
Did you change connectstring or anything like this?

I don't change anything.... One night the cmon goes down and the next when i start cmon it says me this error:(

Ahhh... yes i change the Ip for connectstring because we move the NDB_MGMD server to another IP...

For the next issue you get, would be great if you can log it on
support.severalnines.com instead of on launchpad.

Hi,
If you look in the tables:

select * from cmon.hosts
select * from cmon.mysql_server
select * from cmon.cluster

Do you have the correct IPs/hostnames there?

It works after i edit the cmon.hosts row. Thanks
