for thumbnails need to replace any extension with .png

all thumbnails in CM are stored as .png even if the original files are not, a soluiton for display problems that exists in test pages like:

http://api.creationmix.com/tests/cm.materials.Search?utf8=%E2%9C%93&query=snow

would be is to replace any extension with .png
or to replace the thumbnails engine with the available aiki one

for the API alpha will just do the replace thing, but in future we should use the one that was built for CM over aiki.
