Bug Description

I have a suggestion for the apps Icon (see attached SVG).

This is a mash-up of the Tango apps/utilities-terminal icon
and
world-in-hands by http://jaanos.deviantart.com/art/Tango-icon-ideas-114418389
both available under GPL

I still do not see any icon being used with clicompanion. Should this be reported as a new bug??

There are two .png icon files in the application sources, which appear to be derived from the original .svg file attached to this bug.

Why isn't the original .svg file, which is clearly the preferred form for modification, in the sources? What happens when someone wants to create (for example) a 128x128 icon? Or a monochrome one? They would want the source for this image, which would be the .svg file, as far as I know.

Also, what is the copyright and licence info for this image?

I will add this .svg to upstream.

This is compilation of two GPL images, so we can assume, that licence must be GPL. Correct me if I'm wrong.

But the main problem is - this icon not appear in system after instalation of Clicompanion, so it's a bug against package.

Thanks Jonathan!

Jonathan Marsden (jmarsden) wrote :

The failure of the icon to appear in the menu item for clicompanion was because the clicompanion.desktop file had an Icon= line referring to the icon named clicompanion, but the supplied .png file was named clicompanion.16.png .

Adding the trailing 16 to this file solves the issue.

A bugfix branch has been created at lp:~clicompanion-devs/clicompanion/bug-608653 containing this change, and a request to merge it into the clicompanion trunk has been made.
