clamtk doesn't work with files on mounted disk

Bug Description

I recently installed clamav(0.98.4) + clamtk(5.11), on ubuntu 14.10

Using Right Click, I can scan files for threats, but only files on my primary disk(ssd which hosts the ubuntu installation).
Using Right click, I cannot scan files hosted on an internal disk, which is mounted. After clicking and waiting, nothing happens.
I know the disk works since I can open the clamtk gui and choose the file/directory on the mounted disk and the scan works great.

Hi,

Let's try something: open up a terminal window and type "clamtk [drive]" with no quotes and obviously exchanging [drive] for whatever path your disk is.

If it's failing, hopefully we will see some error messages here.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks,
Dave M

Hello again,
I ran clamtk + drive and it started correctly.

Would it be helpful to install clamtk-nautilus?
I didn't install at first because the right click worked for some of the files.

Here's a temporary problem - the new Debian/Ubuntu packagers for ClamTk have changed the way ClamTk gets packaged. So I recommend you don't change in mid-stream.... I'm going to start packaging mine to match theirs. There have been some compatibility issues when trying to use both.

I'd imagine you already have the nautilus functionality installed if it's working some of the time. You can check this by ensuring the file "/usr/share/nautilus-python/extensions/clamtk.py" exists:

file /usr/share/nautilus-python/extensions/clamtk.py
/usr/share/nautilus-python/extensions/clamtk.py: Python script, ASCII text executable

I'm a little lost as to this situation though - works with some drives and not others? So no error messages came up when you did it with the terminal window?

Thanks,
Dave M

Hello again,
Sorry for the delay.

Regarding your previous message, yes that clamtk.py exists.

Regarding the bug, it has been solved!

Since I have been away from my computer the last few days, the only change was an update today to ClamAV
 ( ClamAV 0.98.5/19688/Thu Nov 27 13:40:38 2014 )
