Nice idea :)

Adding some more diagnostic tools would be handy as well:

- tcpdump (or tshark)
- iostat
- bonnie++
- dmidecode (if it can kill a hypervisor, that power isn't limited to just cirros)
- info libs for lspci/lsusb

Cool thing, why did it take 20 years for me to discover this great package? I don't think it makes much sense to add it to busybox, though, it can quite easily be included via buildroot, see http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~j-rosenboom-j/cirros/update-ipv6/revision/332.

Some of the other commands are also available there, but doing usb properly will not be that easy, as it depends on setting up udev.

In general, while on one hand I can understand the desire to have all kinds of tools available, I'm a bit worried about the increased image size that this causes. cirros is being used in various test environments in the OpenStack eco system because of its small footprint. With the latest build I have done after adding all these packages, the new image has almost 20MB compared to about 12MB we had before. Maybe we want to split things up and have a real cirros-minimal together with something called cirros-enhanced maybe? Or do you think that 20MB is still good enough compared to the full distro images?
