Bug Description
Linux Mint's custom network manager doesn't import OpenVPN files correctly.
1) Embedded keys are not imported
2) When I extract keys and use them manually, the VPN doesn't connect.
after "sudo apt-get install openvpn network-
Start->
Dropdown only has "VPN" -> Create...
"Import saved VPN configuration" -> Create ...
Select my ovpn file
EXPECTED: it would import the keys and certs from the file. It didn't.
When I manually import the keys I can create the VPN
EXPECTED: When I attempt to connect, the connection never completes.
This works: sudo openvpn my_expressvpn_
My VPN provider is here: https:/
Attached is a copy of the OVPN file. I mangled the keys and certs. If you need a real copy, please email me.
Thanks!
The entry to create an OpenVPN connection seems to be missing completely from the list of possible networks to create on Qiana. Only the "Point-toPoint Tunneling Protocol (PTP)" is available in the dropdown list.
Note that the open vpn plugin for the network manager has been installed as well as openvpn.
The core installation of openvpn works flawless since Iäm able to create a connection on the command line as
$ sudo openvpn myvpn.ovpn
and this works just fine. This ofcourse makes it impossible to open a VPN from the Qiana GUI
