Bug Description

Binary package hint: cheese

I have upgraded to lucid and since then video recording in cheese is broken for higher resolutions.
This is a regression as in previous versions I never met this problem.

Thanks for the great work.

When you test with command:
gstreamer-properties

1: Is this the same "choppy" image you notice [Video tab > Default Input]?
2: Could you explain "choppy" better? Or could you upload a video clip of what you mean?

To answer your questions :

1: No, video works perfectly well here. The previewing before taking photographs in cheese also works. The only problem is when
I launch the video recording.

2: By choppy I mean that after a few seconds recording the image freezes. It then starts again re-freezes and so on. The output video has the freezes also.

Thanks.

Ps : I will try and upload a video soon to better illustrate the problem.

3: In which resolutions do you face this problem? and which resolutions it works correctly?
4: Could you attach the output of command?:
v4l-info

PS: video clip would hep understand the problem better[working correctly and choppy]. Thanks.

I have the same issues, although Cheese doesnt get choppy for me until after a few minutes of recording approximately 2 and half minutes. Alot of times if I record longer than that it will also, not properly create the temp video.

 I only use 640x480 mode.

This is my v4l-info

Hi,
Sorry for the long wait (work and exams ...).

The bug occurs on the two higher resolutions :
  -1280 x 1024
  -640 x 480

I've attached the output from v4l-info and an example of the problem.

Thanks.
