Bug Description
checkbox should have a headset test to check the analog audio jacks. It should state:
"Please plug in a headset into your computer"
(Next, Skip)
Then if next is selected, play question.wav and ask questions such as:
Can you hear the drums? (yes/no)
Does the sound get channeled from your speakers to your headphones/headset when plugging in an external headphones/headset? (yes/no)
Record yourself - then playback the recording.
Can you hear yourself? (yes/no)
Does the microphone input source change (from internal mic to external mic) when you plug in an external analog microphone? (yes/no)
We can correlate this data to improve on user experience concerning external audio devices (i.e. my speakers do not mute when plugging in headphones, or , I am still recorded from my internal microphone even though I have plugged in an external microphone - the switch does not happen automatically). These issues are card specific and checkbox is a perfect tool to gather this type of data from the community.

This should be covered as a result of implementing the Extended Audio Testing spec: /wiki.ubuntu. com/QATeam/ Specs/ExtendedA udioTesting
https:/
(Checkbox should also verify that the inputs and outputs are detected properly; e.g. that the headphone output as labeled on the card is the headphone output as labeled in volume control.)
