libvirt-image-backend lvm option is not implemented

The nova-compute charm has an option for libvirt-image-backend: lvm. There are no other options to configure for the lvm, for example lvm to create, device, etc. This makes the lvm option more or less useless and currently does nothing except. Additionally there is no option in the templates to set images_type and images_volume_group which are both needed.

You're quite correct; the nova-compute charm does not implement the LVM backend for nova; the libvirt-image-backend documents support for qcow2, rbd or lvm, but only the first two are implemented.

The documentation of the configuration option is incorrect; implementing LVM support will require some design around device management for LVM pools etc so its not something that can easily be 'fixed' per-say.

    doc: Drop lvm from supported libvirt backends

    lvm has never actually been supported in this charm; update config
    docs to drop lvm - rbd or qcow2 are the only two supported types.
