cannot switch installation from resource to snap store

Bug Description
I have a graylog unit that got installed with a sideloaded resource.
Now I want to switch to the standard snap store installation method, so I attach an empty file to create an invalid resource. This however does not trigger a refresh of the graylog snap.
The workaround is to manually run
snap switch --channel=2/stable graylog
snap refresh graylog --amend

This issue was pending long time. Is it still valid?
Furthermore, soon or later, the monitoring system will migrate to COS. Telegraf will be replaced by grafana-agent. Therefore, we won't follow up this issue. (https:/
