Bug Description

Resizing cardapio with ALT-middle click does not persit (in fact the new size is lost as soon as the window closes). The attached patch fixes this issue.

Thanks for the bug report and the patch. I'm applying it on my local tree right now, and it will be deployed very soon.

Cheers!

Ok, I just went through this again and found that I was unable to reproduce this bug on my machine. What window manager are you using? For me, Metacity was working fine even before the patch, and Compiz doesn't let me resize Cardapio with the Alt key because it removes focus from Cardapio (causing it to autohide).

But the patch was so straight-forward that I ended up applying it anyways :) .

Just note that I patched this a little differently from what you proposed, but it should do exactly the same thing. So please give the latest trunk version a try and tell me if it works.

With my patch, I could resize cardapio with ALT. I guess this is due to the difference with our configurations. With "Open menu when cursor hovers the applet" disabed, ALT-resizing is possible. However your implementation does not work for me (the window size is not stored if resize with ALT-key).

Another thing I have noticed with my proposed implementation is that the window looses focus i a weird way. The window won't autoclose, I focusing the search_entry is not possible. Only after clicking on any launcher the window closes and the focusing is possible again.

Ok, I have converted back to using 'configure-event'. Let me know if it works now.

Yes, I remember that problem. I used to experience that too, back when resizing with Alt worked for me, a few months ago. So this tells me for a fact it's not really related to your implementation -- but I still don't know what's causing it...

Related to this bug: I can easily resize Cardapio as a Gnome panel applet (just drag a corner) but I can't do it with the AWN applet: when I try to drag a corner, Cardapio loses focus.

Yep, I just noticed that too. For now, you can resize Cardapio by dragging the border area just inside the Cardapio window (as opposed to dragging the border drawn by the window manager).

I will check and see if this can be fixed.
