Bug Description
The "Server" dialog accessible from the Login dialog of the GTK client has an entry for the server name, e.g. localhost. If the user enters leading or trailing whitespace (e.g. 'localhost '), login will not work. Leading/trailing whitespace should ignored in the server field - the same applies to the port number.

This has been fixed in lp:~openerp-dev/openobject-client/trunk-dev-client with revision-info as 1397 <email address hidden> and will be merged soon to the trunk client.
