Bug Description

The kernel update in 6.2.0-37 on Ubuntu causes with an old Nvidia graphics card a corruption of QT applications like VLC, Virtualbox, Smplayer, QTgain... that do not display correctly or no longer work at all. The graphics driver of this type of card is less than or equal to the 390 driver. In this situation, it is no longer possible to use a lower kernel under penalty of having a fixed display in 1024x748.

The bug also exists with 6.xxx kernels of other distributions, like Fedora 39, Debian 12
