Bug Description

While I'm using Ubuntu Server version on my laptop(HP omen 15, CPU:i5-8300H,GPU:GTX1050Ti), it always says "[ time.time] acpi INT3400:00: Unsupported event [0x86]",
In Ubuntu Desktop version, after I turn on my computer, it'll not going on but stay at a screen and says "[ time.time] acpi INT3400:00: Unsupported event [0x86]"

Did this issue start happening after an update/upgrade? Was there a prior kernel version where you were not having this particular problem?

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v4.18 kernel[0].

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as "Confirmed".

Thanks in advance.

I have the 15-dc0015np Omen by Hp and using the Ubuntu 18.04, this issue appears when the battery is full and the charge is pluged. With the kernel 4.18 this bugs dissapear, but another one appears like this "Namespace lookup failure, AE_NOT_FOUND". I have tested all grub options and doing acpi=off works, but obviously I lose all acpi function, like reboot or shutdown.

The warning is generated by this kernel patch.

"Some BIOS implementations route ACPI codes other than 0x83 [in this case
0x86] to INT3400 [thermal] device. Ignore these ACPI notification codes because the
INT3400 driver does not handle them."
