Bug Description

Story: after using a little the terminal in unity8-deb I get sometimes characters ABCD when pressing arrows to list previous commands. I reproduced it on both kvm and bare metal.

Environment:
unity8-deb on zesty

Steps:

1º Open terminal app in unity8-deb
2º Type some commands: update, list anything...
3º Try to list previous commands with up arrow

Expected result: pressing up arrow should list latest command
Current result: I get an "A" instead

Add: arrows now show A,B,C,D characters and it will be like that until I close and launch terminal again.

also if you jump to a VT (CTRL ALT F1) and then get back (ALT F8) you'll see strange behaviour with the keyboard and the context menu not working (right click) with some apps
