[unity8][desktop] wrong network indicator icon - cogwheel

clean 17.04 install on a desktop PC (NOT laptop, only wired connection does not have a wireless network card)

the network indicator, top bar/panel is wrong. it is showing the cogwheel. it is like this since i can remember (15.04 + on desktop)

Is indicator-network running for you? Can you please attach a screenshot?

i can't take attach a screenshot because if i press the print screen key it crashes/locks the shell. the shell is inactive, with the mouse locked, i can't move the mouse.

so this is a clean install, i changed nothing, i don't have proposed active etc. just a clean daily build install

i'm also affected by this bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/canonical-devices-system-image/+bug/1639440

first i thought that is because i had proposed enabled but then i made a clean install, same result, apps don't start.

can you please test on a desktop pc with a clean 17.04 install?

sorry, forgot to update this bug report. i'm no longer affected by this bug now, now the wired connection indicator it showing

I still do see it from time to time, mostly when there is a connection being established.

btw.. there are some side effects X-) now in unity7 the wired connection is missing and the indicator panel looks weird, see attached screenshot. this is a daily build.. like today daily build without unity8 installed. i don't care enough to report unity7 bugs.. but just saying
