Bug Description

If a phone is locked, and placed in a pocket, very often within a few minutes the screen will wake up due to a notification, and then because it is in a pocket it continues to get random touch events which keeps the screen on.

Eventually the phone will be locked due to random PIN codes being entered, and the screen will still stay on... phone gets hot, battery goes flat etc....

It seems like it needs a partial wake, where the screen is switched on for the notification, but the unlock button needs to be pressed to enable touch access to start using the phone.

There is logic to use the proximity detection to not turn on the screen in the scenario described. I suspect some other reason for the screen becoming active, perhaps due to the bug also reported about the hw button sometimes remaining active. Or simply that the proximity sensor is not working properly on this specific device. This can be verified with the Proximity Check app from the store.
