Bug Description

I'm trying Unity8 on my desktop, followed Michael Hall's how to (so same PPAs).

After circumventing bug #1371820, I managed to install the music-app. But now, when I open the System Settings via the indicators (any one of them), it opens the music-app. Opening System Settings with its icon in the launcher works fine.

I can not reproduce this at all. Does it still happen / can anyone else confirm?

Hi,
I have uninstalled unity8-desktop-session and reinstalled it, still with the overlay PPA but without the silo mentioned in Michael Hall's post. I still get this weird behaviour.
Is there any kind of log or further information I can provide?

I suspect there's something quite wrong with my install (right now, the network indicator doesn't work, for example). Can these bugs be caused by some broken config files somewhere? How can I be sure to clean them all and start with a fresh Unity8 session? Because I would like to contribute by reporting bugs (I can't code), but if my install is broken I guess my reports are not that relevant…

Can you please post the output from:

$ url-dispatcher-dump

It sounds like the URL dispatcher cache got messed up somehow.

Can you please file a bug for indicator-network, including ~/.cache/upstart/indicator-network.log? Thanks.

Here is the output for url-dispatcher-dump. I used the command in the Unity 7 session since I can't report anything from Unity 8 without an Internet connection. Is it OK?

And I'll report a bug for the network-indicator.

Thanks!
