Bug Description

size of the system partition is a hard limit of the devices. Language support uses a significant amount of space of the system partition. Users don't need them all, cannot remove unneeded ones and fill up the image with useless data.

The devices should comes with a limited set of supported languages (for example en, es, de, zh and fr) by default and extra languages should be installed by the user on demand.

On current krillin images (rc-proposed r323)

size of :
rootfs + custom: 1569892 K

language packs: 105968 K
keyboards: 73208 K
fonts: 55488 K
Dictionaries: 72580 K
---------------------------------------
Total: 307244 (kB) 19.57% of the system partition

Installing lot of unused fonts also have an impact on performance (bug 1590804)
