Bug Description

The Ubuntu Touch start/welcome screen (with the big wheel) does not rotate following the tablet orientation.

Device: Aquaris M10
Ubuntu version: Ubuntu touch OTA 10.1

This bug can be very tedious for convergence, when you are in desktop mode, with the tablet on the table upside-down and using a bluetooth mouse tryng to start the desktop (with no security configuration) because the cursor movements follow an opposite direction to mouse movements.

I would also suggest that the Scopes should also have a Portrait mode. This way one doesn't have to switch back and forth between portrait and landscape switching between apps and scopes.

I do agree about the portrait mode for all the Scopes. It's very unconfortable to switch between portrait and landscape manually when switching between an app that accepts portrait mode and a scope that doesn't.

Does this mean that this will not be addressed now as it is assigned to nobody and Touch is now not being developed anymore?

It's not on any roadmap of Canonical's, at least. Community would have to step up.
