Bug Description

STEPS:
Requirement: DUT with active sim and car that supports Bluetooth phones (Skoda Superb 2013 in my case)

1. Connect the DUT to the car
2. Check the console display for the strength of signal

EXPECTED:
I expect the display to show a similar strength to that on the phone

ACTUAL:
The signal strength is always at 0% however the display does show the Network connected to so there is some sort of feedback via bluetooth that there is a connection.

This comes from the fact that our BlueZ version still relies on an older API version of ofono as we have implemented. It listens for changes to a "SignalStrength" property on the org.ofono.NetworkRegistration interface which doesn't exist. The propery is named just "Strength" these days. See https://bazaar.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-branches/ubuntu/wily/bluez/wily/view/head:/audio/telephony-ofono.c#L922 and https://github.com/rilmodem/ofono/blob/master/doc/network-api.txt#L127 for more details.

So update the property like that should be enough?

Simon, do you think the change should be enough? I'm going to try to build a test package and give that a go today

  * debian/patches/use_correct_signal_strength.patch:
    - use correct signal name for telephony signal strength coming from ofono

I found this working in my car with rc-proposed, so it must've landed in the overlay?
