Bug Description

When I make calls it takes anything up to a minute for a connection to be established. Sometimes it doesn’t at all.
If I stop the call and try again sometimes it works immediately. I do understand that this may be due to network, but it happens too frequently.

It now happens every time I try to make a call.

The first time it tries and nothing happens even if I wait for 3 minutes.
If I stop the call and try again immediately it then works fine.

I'm on arale rc-proposed r58 and built the following test setup:

- Connect to my home network and call a number on a different network ten times

- Roam to a partner network and call a number on a different network ten times

In all cases the call was initiated immediately and the called device was ringing within ~5 seconds from the moment I pressed the Call button on arale.

Hi

I am still getting these issues. It seems to be related to Vodafone UK as I have noticed now that it depends on the area.

It may be related to the issues I am having with 4G see https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1472960

I also have a bq Aquaries 4.5 and did not have any issues when I try it on same places. However the BQ does not support 4g networks.

Let me know if you need to me run any tests and post any logs.

@george-vassilakes, it would be interesting to get the radio log when you test this:

adb shell
sudo /system/bin/logcat -b radio > radio.txt

and send me back the traces + /var/log/syslog through e-mail.

@George

Actually, please attach the traces and syslog to the bug as opposed to email

Hi Guys,

The problem seems to have completely gone away. I have been waiting to re-produce for days so I can capture the logs but it is not happening any longer. I can only assume that the week I had the issues there was some problem with the mobile operator.

I think you can close this bug as it is not possible to re-produce any longer.

Thanks
George

I'm getting this very issue with my MX4 on release 6.
I know it's not a problem with my mobile operator as I cannot replicate this on an two other Android devices.
I can only assume this problem relates to either the actual device or the software.

Every time any calls are made, it takes over a minutes to obtain a dial tone.
