Synchronizing contacts with owncloud/provider

There is no way to sync data with my owncloud or email service provider. I prefer using my own services instead of google or facebook.

This feature would be a great step.

There seems to be a workaround, but there should be a gui for this:

Thanks. I've forgotten to mention that I know this workaround. Sorry. There should be a gui because it isn't very comfortable to use in this way and hard for newbies.

i couldnt agree more i have my phone syncing data / contacts and calendar with scripts to owncloud
im sure a lot of the people who own the phones have the same setup but may not want to carry out the actions
adding cal dav to calendar could make a start but full owncloud integration would be awesome.

CardDav integration is the most important for me as a phone without an addressbook is not of much use.
CalDav would also be useful for the calendar app.
