The thing we need is a plug-in/template for adding an account with an URL specified by the user (carddav &/or caldav).

If we take a look at https://bazaar.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-branches/ubuntu/vivid/sync-monitor/vivid/view/head:/templates/google.conf we can see it can (and should) be integrated in sync-monitor, or should we create a plug-in in the online-accounts plug-ins package (https://code.launchpad.net/~online-accounts/account-plugins/trunk)?

This way we could have a support for owncloud, but even better all caldav & carddav server !

And just another question, what about the project buteo-sync-plugins-contacts, I do not understa ?
