Bug Description

I have encountered an issue when using CamicriCube on Windows 8.1 .

I've already setup Cube on my Ubuntu 14.04 PC and copied the my project folder into the Projects folder of Cube on the Windows machine. I installed the latest GTK# and also checked and tested that .NET 4.0 or higher is installed.

Now at the step where I run cube.exe on the Windows machine nothing happens. If I choose to Run as Administrator a box pops up with an overlay telling me that CamicriCube has crashed.

I have come across this issue on 2 different Windows 8.1 machines.

I have also tried to run the 64bit and 32bit versions of CamicriCube of both 1.0.9 and 1.0.9.2 that are downloadable on the homepage.

The issue still remains.

Update: I have been playing around with different options and finally found a workaround. It seems to be working when running in Compatibility mode for XP(Service Pack 2 or 3) and only if you do not click on the drop down to choose a project. Choosing a project causes it to become unresponsive.

Thank you for sending your problem.

Cube is not tested on Windows 8.1 as of now, and I don't have a computer with that OS to test it. You can try other versions such as Win XP or 7, or as you've said in your mail, change the compatibility mode.

By default, there is a entry automatically in the 'choose a project' drop down, you just need to click 'Open' rather than clicking the drop down to prevent crash. Is there any other problem when you successfully open the project?

I don't have a computer until now so it is impossible for me to investigate and release a updated version of cube. I will do my best to help you.

Thank you for the feedback.

As I mentioned I got it working by changing the compatibility mode,
although it is still not a stable workaround.

The program is very unresponsive and I have found that just by mousing
away from the interface and then returning over it will it respond to my
clicks and input.

Some options still crash it though, and I have noticed that the
"Downloaded" button that lists all downloaded packages crashes the
program on Windows and also on my Ubuntu PC.

I will detail any further findings to my bug report to try and identify
as many issues for you as possible.

Thanks again,
