Bug Description
Recent calibre releases (at least 8.33 and 8.34, it was working in the 7.xx release I had before) have an issue with the Bulk Metadata 'Search and Replace' tab. If you select/enter {template} as your choice in the "Search field" field and then click on the down-arrow next to the "Template" field/drop-down, the drop down happens for an instant and then rolls up again without allowing you to select anything. HOWEVER (and this is the doozy) it leaves what I can only describe as a 'dead area' on the screen where the drop-down would've been (a right hand and bottom edge shadow remain visible on screen - see attached screenshot). In that area you can no longer mouse click on any field or link within in it - in my case that dead area covers the 'replace with' and 'destination' fields and means I can't enter anything there. What's more, even if another app window, like Explorer or an Editor, has focus above the calibre metadata window, that area is still dead to mouse clicks in the other app!
The dead area only goes away when you close the bulk metadata edit popup.
Further info: I am running Windows7
