Bug Description

My Irex Iliad is not seen by Calibre, while it is seen and mounted by Mac OS X. Previously it did work, now it doesn't anymore. My mistake somewhere? I have tried this with the latest version 0.8.13, and with 0.8.10 and 0.8.7. Same result. I am running Snow Leopard, OS X 10.6.8 on a Macbook MB 1.1, this is the oldest Intel MacBook with a 32 bit processor. I can see my Iliad in Calibre on my work laptop running Win XP using exactly the same librabry and metadata.db.

Hello Kovid Goyal,
As far as I can see I have followed all the steps you mentioned on the help page. That is why I contacted you. I don't know anymore.
Thanks,

You have not done the last step:

* If all the above steps fail, go to Preferences->Miscellaneous and click debug device detection with your device attached and post the output as a ticket on the calibre bug tracker.

We can do nothing without this information.

You are correct, I missed that step. Please find the debug info in the attach.
Also, when I start up Calibre in debug mode, there is no menu on top anymore. The Finder menu stays there, regardless of what I do. When Calibre is started in normal mode, everything is fine. But is still can not find my Iliad.
Thanks for your help,
Charan

You have your iliad calibre plugin disabled. Go to preferences->plugins and enable it.

Actually, I'm affected by the same problem: My iliad is not recognized by calibre even though I made sure the iliad calibre plugin is active. For a test, I even deactivated all other device plugins. However, I got it to work via the Generic USB device plugin.
After checking out the source code of the plugin, I noticed that the plugin is only marked to be compatible with Windows and Linux. Adding 'osx' to the supported_platforms variable in the driver.py of the plugin does the trick to make it work. Patch is attached.
