Bug Description

I think I've read somewhere that it's on the to do list but I thought I'd add this feature request anyway so that it's here for comments etc.

I would like to have a full text search. Currently I use a nice little tool to run RegExp on all the .txt files in my library. The only disadvantage of this is that it's really hard to run them on a subset of the library. For instance, right now I'm trying to tag fan fiction by searching typical words in them, but I would like to exclude books already containing the tag in question.

I thought about writing a plugin to hardlink selected files, but bython <3 can't hardlink on windows :(

A full text search without caching is fairly trivial to implement, you could
just combine code from the extract ISBN and Find Duplicates plugins. With caching is a
little harder and that is indeed on of the things on my long term TODO list. I
don't like leaving tickets open that are not going to get addressesd in the
near future, so I'm closing. If someone wants to start work on thi feature,
feel free to re-open.

This would be very nice feature, especially if combined with the calibre-server.

Many people keep library as a reference.

Many other library keeping tools have this option (for instance Zotero, research oriented tool). Its the logical thing to be the part of the software.

Please reconsider priority of this feature.
