Bug Description

Everytime I start Calibre, it crashes. The few times it didn't, as soon as I tried to do something, it crashed. I managed to get an epub book added, but can't get it to upload to my device (and convert) as it crashes every time I try. I've tried all the suggestions on your site and have done all the troubleshooting, but to no avail. Have uninstalled, run registry cleaner, rebooted, reinstalled, tried download from different mirrors, everything-literally. Any suggestions or help with this issue?

I am using a Logitech ball free mouse. It's not cordless though. Should this matter?

I am not using a Wacom mouse. It now is happening every time I open Calibre within about 10 seconds even if I don't move the mouse. I have uninstalled it, deleted all files I can find, run a registry clean, rebooted, reinstalled, checked for that meta.db file and it's not there and it's now where I can't use it at all. I even tried the earlier version, prior to most recent update, and that doesn't work either. I have a file I really need to convert from epub and load onto my Kindle. Please help!

If the main calibre program is not loading for you and you need to do a
conversion you can always use the command line ebook-convert tool.

ebook-covert.exe filename.epub outputfile.mobi

Also try posting in the calibre forum at mobileread.com in case someone else
has any other ideas about the problem.

I purchased the PDF/EPUB to Kindle program for 29.95 and it won't work. This is getting out of control. What does the command line ebook-convert tool mean? I'm sorry, but I'm not sure what you are referring to or how to go about it. This is the first time I've had a book I couldn't buy on Amazon and have had to purchase from the publisher as an epub. Any help you can give me or directions would be wonderful. I am very disappointed that the Calibre program isn't working out as it seems to be the easiest solution!

I tried what you suggested at the cmd prompt and it's not doing anything as far as I can tell.
