Get Books unable to find book from ebooks.com

Bug Description

There is a book on ebooks.com that does not appear in the Get Books search results in Calibre. It appears in other stores which carry this title (Kobo).
I don't see a result for Barnes & Noble or Amazon Kindle either, which also carry it. I've seen results for books on Amazon in prior searches.

Title: "Witch King" by Martha Wells.

In Configure, I increased number of seconds to wait for a store to respond, and to let a store process results, to 90. This did not change the search results. The spinner above the "Stop" button is still spinning even after a few minutes, I don't know if that's related.

Calibre has been great software for me and I appreciate all the effort that goes into its development. I'm happy to help troubleshoot this issue. I don't know python, so I'm not able to try to fix this myself.

B&N website was changed, I will fix that. Amazon works for me, however,
amazon tends to block queries with a CAPTCHA after a few attempts so
most likely that is why it is not working for you. Nothing I can do
about that.

Fixed in branch master. The fix will be in the next release. calibre is usually released every alternate Friday.

This problem has not been fixed as of Calibre 6.25.
When searching for "Witch King" with only ebooks.com, Barnes and Noble, and Amazon Kindle selected, I still get the message "Couldn't find any books matching your query".

Works for me. As I said most likely your IP address has been blocked. Try it again in a day or so. I find amazon blocks IPs after one or two queries. And there was a typo in the B&N plugin which has been fixed.

The search failed on the first try with all three vendors (not just Amazon). I find it highly unlikely that my IP was blocked before the first search. Just to confirm, you can find the book searching ebooks.com?

My original report included Get Books not being able to find a book in ebooks.com. From your response it sounds like you can't find it either in ebooks.com. If so why is this marked Fix Released? Do I need to open a second bug report for the original issue?

I'm afraid I have no interest in fixing ebooks.com, since it has moved to
a javascript based search. Amazon and B&N are still searchable with
reasonable effort.

Actually, after some investigation of the new ebooks.com site it might
be possible to download the search result directly via API. I dont know
how reliable it will be, needs testing.
