Bug Description

There is a highlight problem in calibre E-book viewer which show that, "This highlight overlaps existing highlights. Creating it will cause notes in the existing highlights to be lost. Create it anyway?" without overlapping anything. And I am using the latest version of calibre 6.13. This usually happens when I am highlighting between the spaces as shown in the screenshot. I hope it will get fixed soon.

I need a way to reproduce the problem. SO attach a book in which it
occurs and post a detailed set of steps to recreate the issue.

The bug usually doesn't occur on every book but it happens on some books
like the one I have provided.
The bug happens when I am trying to highlight more than 2 times in a page.
And it happens when I am trying to highlight between the 2 paragraphs or
gaps in the book as shown in the image.

Confirming the bug in version 6.14.1. It started with an upgrade, previously in the same book I had no issues. Previous version was probably from Jan or Feb. this year.

Some times, if I include the final "." dot of the paragraph I get the error even when not including anything of the next one.

The close button of the highlight and bookmark window and the close button
of the E-book viewer itself are very close so I sometimes accidentally
close the E-book viewer itself and it sucks. So I request the developers to
do something about it (maybe change the position of the close button of the
highlight and the bookmark window).

I'm afraid that position is set by the toolkit calibre uses and cannot
be changed. You can always clsoe highlights by pressing ctrl+h or right
clicking the highlights title bar instead

Oh and you can also resposition the highlights panel to be on the left
side of the window if you prefer.
