Bug Description

Release: 6.6.1 [30 Sep, 2022]
Windows

I have created a separate column "Genre":
"Comma-separated, like keywords, displayed in the keyword browser".

"Genre" is displayed hierarchically in the keyword browser. For a long time I could work with this without any problems.

For some time now, the following has been happening:
As long as I work in the library I can make changes. But as soon as I change the library or restart it, the changes are lost (the existing entries are frozen).

I can't reproduce this. Steps I tried:

1 Open calibre.
2 In the tag browser, find a genre.
3 Right click and edit the genre. It changes.
4 Switch to a different library.
5 Switch back.

The genre change is still there.

Another experiment:
Replace steps:
4 Close calibre.
5 Reopen calibre.

The genre change is still there.

What exactly are you doing when it fails? What plugins do you have installed? Is the library installed on a network file system?

I also tried the same experiments but using Edit Metadata to change a book instead of changing it in the tag browser. Again, all changes were still there.
