Bug Description

Calibre 6.3

Not a huge priority.

Currently, the tag browser order is controlled by a tweak, which is a bit unwieldy and easy to mess up.

An option similar to the recently-added Look & Feel > Edit Metadata would be helpful.

Thank you.

Doing this has a side effect: new columns and user categories will be put at the end instead of sorted into the list. This is a consequence of setting the order with a widget in Look&feel.

Is this OK?

I half-expected that to happen, so it's fine. :) Thanks.

I made no attempt to migrate the effect of the tweaks.

Thanks. Seems to be working well. :)

Question: Were user categories _always_ immovable? I did use the tweak to move it before, but I just realized it was at the bottom like it is currently.

I can't guarantee that UCs couldn't be moved but I can guarantee that things will break if they are moved. Reason: UCs refer to items in other 'real' categories. The UI node trees for these items must be built before the UC category tree is built so the UC can display them and renames etc work. If the UC is moved above a real category then that constraint would be violated.
