Bug Description
When sending an AZW3 ebook to a Kindle Paperwhite, it won't be able to show its cover on the lockscreen when the cover image has EXIF information.
Instead of the cover image, the title and author of the book is shown.
More information: https:/
Steps to reproduce:
1. Pick an EPUB with a cover that has EXIF information (you can use the attached sample).
2. Attach Kindle Paperwhite to computer.
3. Send the book to the device, allowing Calibre to convert it to AZW3.
4. Detach the device.
5. Make sure Settings --> Device Options --> Display Cover is enabled.
6. Open the book in the device.
7. Turn off device.
Expected result:
Book cover is shown on lockscreen.
Actual result:
The title and author of the book is shown on lockscreen.
As a workaround, changing the cover image in Calibre to a JPEG w/o EXIF information and re-uploading will fix the lockscreen image.
As a permanent fix, I purpose that Calibre would strip the EXIF information from AZW3 covers when sending them to the device.
* Calibre version: 5.27
* OS: Windows 10
* Device: Kindle Paperwhite (10th Generation)
Attaching the converted AZW3 sample book that triggers this bug.
Simply sending this book to a Kindle paperwhite would trigger the bug.
