Please add the ability to right click on an item in the Manage items window to open the window for managing it, e.g. clicking on a tag in the Manage item: tags window should open the Manage tags window with the current tag selected.

Do you mean the "Manage Items" available in Single Metadata Edit? If so then no. Managing the complexities of simultaneous changes in two different dialogs across multiple books is more than I want to attempt.

Looking further it seems that Kovid solved this problem for authors. I will look at whether I can reuse that work,

This isn't exactly what you asked for but is what is practical without lots of work and dangerous changes. You can bring up the Manage ??? dialog by holding the SHIFT or CTRL key when clicking the button. If you want a particular item then copy the text to the clipboard before opening the editor then pasting it into the search or filter box.

Fixed in branch master. The fix will be in the next release. calibre is usually released every alternate Friday.
